What is Iowa Blogs?

Iowa blogs is a community of excellent bloggers from the State Of Iowa. We've brought all of them together to add value to all the readers of local blogs in Iowa. Iowa Blogs is modelled after traditional media sites by organizing all of our featured bloggers into certain categories. Sometimes a blogger's post does not fit the category for which they write on Iowa Blogs but generally this is not the case.

Why did we make this site?

Blogs are "conversation stations" and the goal of this site is to share a spotlight on the unique voices and personalities in Iowa. The blogs are their own - we just organize them. We're thankful they share their voice with us.

How do you get to be featured?

At this point it's primarily at the discretion of the editor but we are currently looking into allowing the community to decide...
At this time if you know of or write for a blog that should be featured, please email editor[at]iowablogs.net or fill out our Get Featured form

So what's the directory

While we aggregate content from the featured blogs we still maintain a directory of all Iowa bloggers. So if you are new to blogging or are not on the list this is a great place to start on your path to being featured.
At this time we are working on a way for you to add yourself to our directory. Until then we will be happily to manually add you if you email editor[at]iowablogs.net.

So who is behind this?

Originally Mike Sansone's idea for a directory it was handed over to the good guys at Simplifive, LLC to build a community similar to that of Central Iowa Bloggers. This is our first version and should everything go accordingly we have big plans for this website. If you have any questions about Simplifive, email andy[at]simplifive.com.

What's with the Sponsors and Google Ads

We run ads for a simple reason - to cover our hosting and development costs. We do not own the content (except for stuff from our blog) - we just organize and aggregate it.
